Pterostilbene is a chemical component contained in red sandalwood. It is a white or off-white powder crystal. It has rich medicinal value. It belongs to the antifungal active ingredient in Dragon’s blood products and is a polyhydroxystilbene compound. The homologues of veratrol have strong antifungal activity (its antifungal activity is five times that of resveratrol) in addition to some similar pharmacological effects to resveratrol. Pterostilbene helps prevent pre-cancerous damage to the body. As an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory agent, it is found in blueberries and blackberries.
