Product Description

The bioactive component of garlic essential oil is garlic essential oil (Allicin), which only accounts for about 0.2% of the garlic composition. Garlic essential oil contains more than 140 extremely precious natural substances. The composition of natural substances can be generally divided into two categories, one is volatile ingredients (also known as garlic oil), including more than 40 kinds of sulfide compounds; the other is non-volatile ingredients, including more than 100 kinds of esters, trace elements, minerals and various amino acids. It is these complex and excellent components that give garlic essential oil its outstanding properties.

Garlic

Basic Product Information

  • Latin Name: Allium sativum L.
  • Botanical Family: Liliaceae (Lily family) / Amaryllidaceae
  • Plant Part Used: Bulb (cloves)
  • Extraction Method: Steam Distillation (primary method)

Garlic essential oil is obtained by crushing fresh garlic bulbs and subjecting them to steam distillation. The organosulfur compounds are formed through enzymatic conversion of allicin during the distillation process . Oil yields typically range from 0.09% to 0.35% of fresh weight , though microwave-assisted extraction has been reported to achieve higher yields of up to 15.47% .

Alternative extraction methods include Supercritical CO₂ Fluid Extraction (SFE) , which operates at lower temperatures and better preserves heat-sensitive components, yielding higher quality oil with superior antioxidant activity compared to steam-distilled products . Solvent extraction using ethanol or hexane is also available upon request .

Allyl methyl trisulfide 5%–24% Organosulfur compound
Diallyl sulfide 1%–9% Organosulfur compound
Methyl allyl disulfide 3%–9% Organosulfur compound
Diallyl tetrasulfide 3%–9% Organosulfur compound
Dimethyl trisulfide 1%–5% Organosulfur compound
3-Vinyl-1,2-dithiacyclohex-4-ene 1%–5% Organosulfur compound
3-Vinyl-1,2-dithiacyclohex-5-ene 1%–3% Organosulfur compound

Benefits & Application

Most people prefer to swallow garlic capsules rather than use it for aromatherapy massages.

Garlic Extract has great effects on the circulatory, respiratory, nervous, digestive, immune systems:

  • Circulatory system – prevent high blood pressure, cardiovascular disease, reduce blood fat, prevent blood clots
