Lactoferrin (LF) is an important non-heme iron-binding glycoprotein in milk, a monomeric glycoprotein with bactericidal activity in neutrophil granules. Its molecular weight is 80 kDa, and it is mainly expressed and secreted by breast epithelial cells.
