Papain is a proteolytic enzyme of plant origin. The definition of “proteolytic” means that this substance is involved in the process of breaking down proteins. Papain catalyzes the hydrolysis of proteins, peptides and esters of the main amino acids, breaks down fats and carbohydrates. This enzyme is extracted from the milky juice of unripe papaya fruits, but it is also present in other parts of the plant. In small amounts, the substance is also found in other fruits — in pineapple, banana, kiwi.

Application
In any instructions for a specific drug (including papain), the norms and methods of taking the drug are written. Papain can be taken up to 3 times a day, the main daily dosage should not exceed 400-500 mg. The minimum dosage of the drug is 45 mg.
The supplement in the form of capsules or tablets can be taken before meals, washed down with water, or, if lozenges or chewable tablets are used, they must be dissolved until completely dissolved after each meal.
Take papain immediately before a meal, during a meal, or immediately after.
