The extraction source of psoralen is the legume Psoralea corylifolia L. fruit. Psoralen is a photosensitive compound that needs to be supplemented by sunlight or ultraviolet radiation. After medication, it acts on melanocytes that have not been completely destroyed or normal near damaged cells to increase tyrosinase activity and promote melanin synthesis. Psoralen has a strong killing effect on leukemia cells (IC50 is 4ug/ml), that is, leukemia cells are more sensitive to psoralen.
